Why I started this

Hey — I'm Adam. I spent years as a realtor, and I still buy and hold property around here. Which means I've walked through a lot of houses, and I've hired a lot of cleaners.

Most of the time it went the same way. Nobody picked up. Nobody would quote a price without driving out to look. And when somebody finally did show up, I had no idea who was standing at my door.

So I built the company I wanted to hire. Your price is on this page — scroll down and it's yours in about ten seconds. You'll know exactly who's coming to your house before they knock. And we keep you updated at every step of the clean, whether you're home or not.

What it's actually like

You'll never wonder where we are, or when we're done.

Every cleaning company says they're reliable and communicative. Here's the whole thing instead — the exact messages you get, start to finish.

  • Minutes
    You hear back immediately

A text from me within a couple of minutes, then a call — usually before you've closed the tab.

  • The day before
    You meet your cleaner first

Their name, their photo, their arrival window. Same person on your home whenever the schedule allows.

  • While we're there
    Progress, not silence

A text when they're on the way, and an update partway through — what's done, what's left, anything we've run into.

  • Finished
    You see the work

Photos of every room when they lock up, whether you're in the kitchen or four hundred miles away.

Text messages from Stone & Sill: the cleaner's name and photo the day before, an on-the-way text, a progress update partway through, and photos of every room when finished.
What we clean with

Non-toxic, and naturally scented.

A house shouldn't have to smell like a chemical to prove it got cleaned. That smell isn't clean — it's residue, and it's sitting on the counters your kids put their hands on.

We clean with Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds — a plant-based concentrate scented with fir and spruce oil, and EWG Verified, which means every ingredient is disclosed and none of them are on their unacceptable list.

Prefer unscented, or a product of your own? Tell us and we'll use it. Need something disinfected because someone's been sick? We'll do that too, and tell you which room and what we used.

Concentrates, not sprays — less plastic, less waste

What's in them
  • Plant-derived surfactants
  • Citric and lactic acid
  • Baking soda
  • Essential oils for scent — nothing synthetic
  • Microfiber and hot water
  • Color-coded cloths, so the bathroom cloth never touches the kitchen
What isn't
  • Bleach
  • Ammonia
  • Synthetic fragrance
  • Phthalates
  • Quats
  • Anything you'd want the windows open for
What gets done

Pick a room. This is the list they work from.

Not a summary — the actual checklist for a standard visit. We'd rather you know what you're buying now than find out on the second visit.

Laundry is washed, dried and folded. Windows are priced by the window, beyond the door glass we already do.

We don't do: heavy hard-water or grout restoration (that's a one-time deep clean) · dishes beyond loading what's in the sink · anything above a two-step ladder · litter boxes or pet waste · mold remediation · moving furniture heavier than a dining chair · organizing and decluttering, since we clean around what's out. Want any of it anyway? Ask, and we'll quote it before we start.

Where we clean

Both sides of the line.

Thirty minutes either direction from Hartwell. If your town isn't listed, call anyway — if we're nearby that day we can usually make it work.

Get on the schedule

Just a few questions.

Tell us about the home and you'll see your price update as you go. Nothing is submitted until you're ready.

Your price per visit $155

No account, no obligation. We don't sell your information.

Before you book

No surprises, in writing.

Everything below is how it actually works. If any of it isn't clear, call me.

The fine print, in plain English
Your price is only as good as your description.
The number above is built from what you tell us — square footage, rooms, and condition. If the home turns out to be meaningfully larger or in rougher shape than described, we'll call you with a revised price before we start, and you can say no. We will never clean first and hand you a different number afterward.
Some homes need a deep clean first.
If a house hasn't had a professional clean in a while, one visit won't get it to baseline. The deep-clean figure above is what that first reset costs; once it's done you're on the recurring rate. You'll hear that on the phone before you book, not at your door.
There's a minimum.
No visit is under $115. That's what it takes to get a cleaner to your door and back with supplies, and small homes land there. Everything else is exactly what the calculator says.
How payment works.
We take Venmo, cash or check — whatever's easiest for you. Your first clean is paid when it's finished. After that, any schedule less frequent than weekly is paid a visit ahead, so on a two-week schedule your next visit is settled once the current one is done. It keeps your spot on the calendar. There's no contract: cancel whenever you like, and anything you've paid ahead and not used comes straight back to you.
Cancellations and access.
Give us 24 hours' notice and there's no charge. If we arrive and can't get in, we'll bill half the visit — we've already paid the crew for the slot. Add-ons like inside the oven or refrigerator are quoted before we touch them, never added after.
